Capital Spreads Review

Review

Capital Spreads is a division of London Capital Group Holdings plc, which was founded in London in 1996 as a proprietary trading business. In 2003 that company restructured and became a prominent participant in financial spread betting when it launched Capital Spreads.

Capital Spreads offers its clients the opportunity to spread bet on shares, commodities and metals, currencies and indices. Capital Spreads has a clear commodities chart listing the markets, exchange hours, risks, etc. Some markets include oil, carbon, gas, gold, silver, copper, corn, oats, wheats, soybean, coffee, and other interesting products to make Commodity Trading fun, and successful. It quotes futures contracts as well as rolling daily contracts.

Capital Spreads has a number of trading tools available and organized for your trading experience and pleasure. Some tools include a video of the week's market news, a trading quiz, technical analysis, economic calendar, and more. Capital Spreads offers Mobile Trading tools for either an Android or iPhone smartphone making it easy to trade on the go. You can find Capital Spreads on the latest Social Media Platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, and YouTube where there are videos uploaded weekly on the latest market news or trading strategies.

The Capital Spreads website offers a fairly good definition of the kind of spread betting/trading they facilitate: The "spread" in the phrase Spread Betting refers to the Sell (Bid) and Buy (Offer) price quoted by a spread betting company. This price is calculated around the live (or the estimated future) market price of a financial product.

Spread bets do not involve the actual purchase of a commodity, a stock or a share of any kind. Instead clients make a wager regarding the way they suppose the market or share price will move within a particular market. Bets are placed in pennies or in points. The amount that is wagered is called the stake. A stake at Capital Spreads can amount to as little as £1/?1/$1 per point or penny movement.
Capital Spreads makes trading spreads available between the hours of 23:00 on Sunday until 21.15 pm on Friday (UK time). Customers can trade through their online platform or by telephone. Traders can use the following services: bet on a range of markets, use rolling daily bets, view live charts and limit risk via stops & orders.

Capital Spreads distinguishes itself from the competition by offering tight spreads that maximize profit potential and a limited margin policy where clients need only deposit the maximum value of their stop-loss (plus 20%).

To its credit Capital Spreads offers newcomers a free demo account that mirrors the live trading platform. The website makes a variety of educational and information material available in PDF and web-based formats. In the educational section you can learn about Spread Betting or CFD's in great detail. There is beginner information, FAQ's, glossaries and demos. The website also makes it clear that the financial services it offers can put significant amounts of capital at risk and adds that a client may actually lose more than their initial stake and deposit by spread betting.
