ETX Capital, founded in 2002 and domiciled in the UK, is authorized and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. It is a member firm of the London Stock Exchange and offers multi-asset and multi-market derivatives through CFDs and spread betting products to individuals and institutions based in Europe and other locations.

Accounts

There is only one standard account at ETX Capital. There is a minimum deposit of $100 and there is no maximum trade.  The payout can go as high as 85%.

ETX Capital offers tight spreads on a range of different products: With Forex, spreads start at 0.7 pips for EUR/USD. Equities offer 0.08% indicative spreads for some stocks and minimum spreads for Commodities start at 3 pips. For certain major Indices, the minimum spreads start from 1 pip.

In addition, ETX Capital offers leverage rates at 1:00 for many products and as high as 400:1 on some MT4 products for all non-EU citizens. EU citizens will be offered leverage in accordange with ESMA guidelines, as follows:

ETX Capital has 2 types of trading platforms, the proprietary TraderPro and the popular MetaTrader 4 (MT4). All the platforms are available on iPhone, iPad and Android devices. Traders can choose to from a variety of different trading assets. The website is user-friendly and can be viewed in close to 20 different languages. ETX Capital boasts competitive commission rates and offers both variable and fixed spreads.

There is a range of CFD Trading opportunities including indices from all over the world such Wall Street, the UK 100, France 40, Germany 30, Hong Kong 40 and Japan 225 as well as the Australia 200, Switzerland Market Index, Greece 20 and Poland 20.

ETX Capital has a large selection of commodity CFDs to trade, including metals such as Gold, Silver, Palladium, Platinum and Copper; energy such as Brent Crude, Heating Oil, Natural Gas, Nymex Crude and RBOB Gasoline; soft commodities including Corn, Cotton, Oats, Orange Juice, Coffee, Soybeans, Cocoa, Sugar and Wheat; equities from 18 different European countries, as well as the US, Australia, South Africa and Singapore and FX in more than 50 different currency pairs.

I was glad to see when doing this ETX Capital review that a demo account is offered to traders wishing to practice their trades before putting their money at risk. The demo account can be set up using the, ETX TraderPro or ETX MT4 platforms.

Education

Educating their clients to become better traders is very important at ETX Capital and since its establishment, the company’s growth has been driven by its unrivalled educational focus. Their seminars are geared to traders of all knowledge levels, from those who are new to spread betting, traders who want to know more about technical analysis, those who wish to know about specific markets and more.

Free seminars are provided by both their expert in-house team and an independent trader company to ensure all education needs are met. And for those traders who want to learn more about spread betting but can’t make it to their seminars, ETX Capital also offers completely free online webinars, both live and pre-recorded.

Proprietary Platforms

ETX TraderPro

Traders can elect to trade directly from the charts with the ETX TraderPro platform. This is the most advanced trading platform and is targeted at experienced traders looking for a platform which provides them with enhanced trading features and increased access to financial markets. It is fully customizable, allowing traders to set up their trading station in any way they want. In addition, ETX TraderPro allows the lowest possible spreads. This platform won the Best Forex Trading Platform award at the UK Forex Awards in 2018.

MetaTrader 4

ETX Capital was among one of the first of the UK’s CFD trading firms to offer MetaQuotes’ popular MT4 trading platform to traders not just in England, but worldwide. 

MetaTrader 4 offers a comprehensive charting solution for all users, including multiple chart display, built-in indicators, 3rd party custom indicators, trading from charts and more. Traders can use the expertise of EAs to automatically execute trading decisions based on signals received. They can also build their own library of indicators or download from 1000's of third party providers.

ETX MetaTrader 4 Autotrader Platform

ETX Capital offers its clients the use of its Autotrader platform. Automated Expert Advisors allow traders to take positions automatically, based on pre-set trading parameters. ETX provides the hosted platform, whilst the MT4 traders provide their own EA’s. Traders can program Expert Advisors to follow a very specific set of instructions, allowing trades to be automatically opened and closed without the trader needing to be present.

ETX MT4 Autotrader enables traders to open multiple charts at the same time providing traders with real-time data that enables them to live stream the latest market fluctuations and to customize watch-lists with drag and drop capability allowing them to add key markets to their watch-lists with ease. The comprehensive charting package includes more than 50 built in indicators, specific custom indicators and more.

The platform also offers traders the use of micro-lots – a tenth of the size of mini-lots which give them the opportunity to trade in smaller increments and help to limit overall exposure and instances of over-leveraging. Leverage of up to 200:1 is available on selected Forex products, enabling traders to increase the potential return on trades at the price of increasing their risk.

Trades are placed quickly and effectively with a one click trading tool and ETX MT4 gives MT4 traders the chance to use hedges in any available market in an attempt to offset a current position.
