Sucden Financial, formed in 1973, is an international derivatives broker providing access to a broad range of markets, including exchange and OTC traded products, as well as equities, foreign exchange and bullion. Sucden Financial is based in London, UK and is the London brokerage arm of Sucres & Denrées (Sucden Group) founded in 1952. It is authorized and regulated by the FCA and Sucden Financial HK is licensed in Hong Kong by the Securities and Futures Commission.

Sucden Financial Trading Instruments

When it comes to equities, Sucden Financial provides access and expertise to trade exchange traded equities, equity derivatives and OTC equity derivative instruments, as well as fixed income on all Major European and key worldwide exchanges. ADRs, CFDs, EFTs, Futures and Options are some of the instruments that traders can choose to trade.

A variety of electronic access solutions, including several platforms, can be customized to each client's individual requirements.

In fact, the choice of different platforms is one of the largest in the industry each catering to a different financial market. For example, the MT4 platform is geared towards Fix trading while on the Pro-Mark and J-Trader platforms, agricultural commodities, base and metals, energies, precious metals, cocoa, coffee and sugar can be traded.

As far as metals trading, Sucden Financial stands out from the competition by offering ring trading and ring commentaries on the London Metal Exchange as one of only 10 Ring Dealing/ Category 1 members of the LME.  The London Metal Exchange is the world center for industrial metals trading with more than 80% of global non-ferrous business conducted there.

Sucden Financial allows traders to hedge their trades. Hedging is a risk management strategy designed to reduce or offset price risks. It involves the use of market instruments, the most common of which are futures, options and averages. Hedging is the opposite of speculation. Hedgers are not trying to "win" and make money on the price movements. They wish to locking in a price today that allows for better focus on planning and business development with minimum exposure to an unwanted business risk.

Education

Sucden Financial offers several educational features. A daily morning report covering fundamentals and technical for USD, EUR, GBP, JPY and CHF is posted. In addition, daily reports often cover each individual commodity and include research data and charts. There are also weekly metals reports as well as quarterly updates on energy.

Sucden Financial Market Analysis

Daily market commentary and analysis for the day ahead are offered to subscribers and a monthly calendar displays dates and times of major economic indicators and contract expires.

There was no FAQ section and scant information about additional educational tools such as seminars, webinars, videos etc.

As such, its emphasis is heavily on metals and other commodities and it is able to offer traders a wide choice of trading platforms and electronic execution solution to suit different trading needs. In addition to the popular MetaTrader4, traders can choose to trade on Sucden Finanical’s own desktop platform as well as 6 other platforms. Strangely, I didn’t see any mention of mobile trading.

STAR is Sucden Financial's in-house developed Futures and Options trading platform providing access to many of the world's major exchanges, including the London Metal Exchange (LME).  STAR is used by a broad range of global clients, including Brokers, Proprietary Trading Houses and Hedge Funds as well as all of our internal execution desks.

Sucden FX Trader Pro is the preferred desktop platform, which is free to access and easy to deploy

Currenex

Sucden Financial supports the Currenex Classic and Viking Trader platforms, as well as the Currenex API. Currenex Classic employs an interface that is aimed at institutional traders, to facilitate quick and efficient trading with adaptable charting and comprehensive accounting and position tracking.

Currenex Viking Trader

The Currenex Viking Trader platform is designed for retail traders and is available as a white label option to retail broker clients. It offers adaptable charting, support in multiple languages, real-time news, more than 40 technical analysis tools and comprehensive accounting and position tracking.

MetaTrader 4

Sucden Financial's MT4 is available on a fully STP no dealing desk (no re-quotes) basis and is amongst one of the most competitive and flexible offerings available in the market. There is a choice of the different pricing models including fixed spreads, variable inter-bank market spreads and a combination of fixed or variable.
